Deficient Teachers and Ethical Guidelines: Principles of Morality and Teaching Success
A teacher who lacks the ability to eliminate moral flaws through kindness and good character does not deserve the title of a teacher. The reality is that most teachers are oblivious to their own shortcomings and, therefore, do not seek self-improvement. They often consider themselves perfect, and when an imperfect person sees themselves as perfect, any chaos that arises from them is less than what could have been expected.
Remember, instilling a sense of fear or intimidation in younger and child students is as harmful as a harsh storm blowing over a delicate plant or a scorching wind blowing over flowers.
If a student falls short in their responsibilities, the teacher should first explain gently and with compassion. If that doesn’t work, they may issue a warning.
If the student still doesn’t respond, the teacher should inform the school authorities about the situation. If, despite repeated advice and warnings, the student’s behavior doesn’t improve, the parents should be informed that continued enrollment may not be beneficial, and they might consider another place where the student could succeed.
However, it is unwise to harm one’s own character while trying to correct another.
