Praying for Students: The Prophetic Act and Teachers’ Responsibility

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) held him close to his chest and prayed, “O Allah, grant him knowledge of the Quran” (Bukhari).

This hadith reveals that besides teaching, a student’s right is also that the teacher prays to Allah for them to be blessed with beneficial knowledge (Tuhfat al-Ulama).
