Finality of Prophethood: The Foundation of Faith and Symbol of Muslim Honor

The protection of Aqeedah Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood) is the foundation of Islam and the hallmark of the religious self-respect of Muslims. As long as Muslims continue to safeguard it, they will live as a dignified nation. The belief in the Finality of Prophethood is the blessed truth that has preserved Islam in every era from all kinds of wrong innovations, distortions, and tribulations.

Prophet Muhammad Mustafa, Mujtaba, RahmatullilAalameen(peace and blessings be upon him), is the last Prophet, and after him, until the Day of Judgment, the birth of any new prophet or messenger is against the Islamic Aqeedah. This reality is explicitly stated in the Quran and Hadith, and the entire Ummah has agreed upon it.

The responsibility to protect the Finality of Prophethood is an obligation on every Muslim at all times. It is such an important belief that, from the time of the Sahabah (may Allah be pleased with them) until now, Muslims around the world have made unparalleled sacrifices to defend it.

My grandfather (may Allah have mercy on him) also played his part with his heart and soul in this cause. He would sacrifice his life, wealth, and body for it. When he was imprisoned for the cause of protecting Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, the room where he was kept had no designated place for Prayer(Salah).

In his special style, my grandfather (may Allah have mercy on him) said to the jailer:

“If you cannot even provide us with a prayer mat, how will you face the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the Day of Judgment? His soldiers were imprisoned by you, and you did not even give them a place for prayer.”

Hearing this, the jailer was overcome with shame, and he gave us a prayer mat.

Even in today’s era, the struggle to protect the Finality of Prophethood is a demand of Muslim Self Respect and HONOR. The belief in the Finality of Prophethood is such that defending it is a matter of the dignity and respect of Muslims. Therefore, its importance must be understood.

May Allah keep us firm on the truth and grant us the strength to walk steadfastly on the path of righteousness. May Allah bless us with the wealth of Iman. Ameen.
